About Our Pastor

ELDER MICHAEL D. REEVES, SR. is the son of the late Curvington and Mary Reeves, a native of Columbus, Ohio, born on May 27, 1949. He was educated at the Ephesus S.D.A. Jr. Academy and Columbus Public School System. He has attended seminars, workshops, and other educational opportunities, to further his education.

He has traveled abroad to West Africa, Haiti, as well as all over the United States.

Elder Reeves is past President of The Congress of Christian Education of The Ohio Baptist State Convention, Inc. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of Mary Haven Inc., which serves our community for those who suffer from substance and chemical abuse. He was selected to be in "Who's Who in Black Central Ohio."

Elder Reeves was called to the ministry in November, 1974, and assumed the Pastorate of the Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church in October, 1976. The past twenty-seven (27) years has brought about much growth: our new Church facility, our Community Development Corporation, increase in our Ministerial Staff, and continued Church growth numerically and spiritually.

Elder Reeves' ministry extends to the community on Radio Station WJYD (106.3 FM) where, he serves as Church Community Liaison and Saturday afternoon announcer from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. He is also a mentor for many students in various local schools.

Elder Reeves is married to Minister Deborah Reeves and is the proud father of three sons: Rev. Dr.
Michael, Jr.(Leah), Bryan (Gina), and John (Nikkie); and proud grandfather of six grandchildren: Michael III, David, Lorenzo, Johnzell, Lawrence, and DeVontae.

  • Assists Pastor Michael Reeves in the Broadcast Ministry of the Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church on Radio Station W J Y D - F M 106.3 "REJOICE"

  • Editor in Chief of The Corinthian Voice and Church News Publication

  • One of the Class Facilitators for Teachers in Training

  • Overseer for New Believers Orientation Classes

  • Organizer of two (2) boys mission groups "The Young Davids" and "Ambassadors"

  • Former Deaconess President

  • Former Puppeteer in the Puppets N Praise ministry

  • Former Adult Mime in the Adult Mime ministry

  • Former Soprano in the Adult Choir and Mission Choir
